Course Reserves are course-related materials held on reserve at the request of faculty members. The items are held at the Front Desk in Vise Library and are for library use only. Students can access Course Reserve items at the Front Desk with their Student ID.

How may I place an item on Course Reserves?
You can reserve an item from our collection at any time by filling out the online form. Please complete the form as fully as possible. If you are placing items you personally own on Course Reserves, you must deliver those items to Vise Library. If you prefer, you may also complete a paper form at the Information Desk. Faculty members are responsible for complying with any applicable copyright laws.
How will I know my item has been placed on Course Reserves?
Your item(s) will be listed on this guide within the school with which you are affiliated. Please then allow two full business days for processing.
What sort of items may I reserve?
You may reserve books, DVDs, audiovisual materials, or any other items that may pertain to a current course. You may reserve items from the collection of Vise Library as well as your own personal items.
When may I reserve items?
You may place items on Course Reserves for current classes at any time, either before or after the course has begun.
How many items may I reserve?
There is no limit to the number of items that you may reserve. However, please be aware that limited space is available and only items pertaining to current courses may be held on reserve.
May I place a Reference item on reserve?
No. These items are already available in the library at all times and are not eligible for course reserves.
May I place an item on Course Reserves indefinitely?
Yes, provided that the items will be used for current courses during each following semester.
May I request an item through my faculty allocation for Course Reserves?
Yes. After making your Faculty Allocation request for the item, please fill out the Course Reserve form and indicate that you wish the item to be placed on reserve. We will place the item in Course Reserves following processing.
How can I take an item off Course Reserves?
You may remove an item from Course Reserves at any time by coming to the Front Desk in Vise Library or by contacting Rick Brown. If you do not wish to come in person and the item is yours, it can be returned to you via interdepartmental mail or held for you to pick-up, depending on your preference.
